Vaughn Bjerre

Vaughn Bjerre
As a young man of 25, Vaughn Bjerre came to work for CKSO Radio as Program Director in 1950.  His career which spanned over 35 years also included stops at CKWX and CKMO in Vancouver, CFRA Ottawa, CKSL London, and Vice President of CHFI/CFTR in Toronto.  He was known for his distinctive, satiny voice.  Retiring from broadcasting in the 1970's he and his family moved to South Padre Island, Texas on the Gulf of Mexico.  It was here that he established Tropical Condominium Services.  Working as a land developer, he built the "Castaways".  Vaughn would have a lifetime passion for music.  As a youth he played the violin in an orchestra.

Vaughn passed away in Vancouver on September 25, 2006 after battling leukemia.  He was survived by his wife Patricia and daughters Sheryl, Jennifer and Julia.
