Bill Deegan and Leila Saganiewicz were co-workers at CKSO Radio back in the 1940's.  Bill was an announcer while Leila was an office supervisor.  They fell in love and were married in 1947.  The Deegan's moved to Montreal where Bill worked at CFCF and then the couple moved to Toronto where Bill enjoyed a long career at the flagship radio station, CFRB.  Bill also served as a freelancer voicing national advertisements and working with live audiences in theatres and night clubs.

Bill died of cancer at the age of 71 on October 8, 1996 in Toronto.  Bill had been at CFRB for 36 years before taking on semi-retirement in the early 1980's.

Leila moved to Calgary in 2010.  She passed away on November 23, 2014 in Alberta.
